Scott Handler with the MJOScott Handler is in great demand as a lead and solo trumpet player, as well as being an acclaimed leader and member of several high-profile groups, including the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, CHASED, and the Big Panic Big Band. Scott has been featured with CHASED Revisited, the group of original CHASE members, for the L.A. Jazz Groovin' Hard Festival.

Scott is currently involved in several other projects, including the Ultraphonic Jazz Orchestra, Mass Hipsteria, and Six Foot Joe and The Red Hot Rhinos.

Scott began as a child, eventually playing with many classical and jazz ensembles while at UCLA. While in the Navy, he continued playing in local community groups, such as the Eddie Galvan Orchestra in Texas, and the Bruce Petterson Orchestra in Boston.

In Denver, Scott became a member of the Colorado Jazz Workshop, as well as The Brass Jacks. He's played with the Joe Peterson Orchestra, VSO Big Band, La Candela, as well as Denver favorite The Nacho Men. He is a regular member of the 5280 Jazz Orchestra.

Scott’s influences include Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Doc Severinsen, Maynard Ferguson, Arturo Sandoval, Don Ellis, John Faddis, and The Tower of Power Horns.
